The Aperture Method™
A clear path from data to decision, and from decision to done.
Our five-step framework turns the information your business already has into confident decisions, then helps you carry them out. The rigor a large company would expect, sized for an owner-run business, delivered by the person who does the work.
Understand. Quantify. Reveal. Navigate. Perform.
What The Aperture Method is.
The Aperture Method™ is a structured business transformation framework that combines executive consulting, advanced analytics, geographic intelligence, and performance management into a single, integrated methodology. Each phase builds on the previous one, a clear path from understanding the current state to achieving measurable, sustainable improvement.
Five named phase-products, Aperture Insights, Aperture Analytics, Aperture Intelligence, Aperture Compass, and Aperture Atlas, with a continuous intelligence layer, the Aperture platform, running through all of it. The whole thing is designed to end not with a report, but with decisions in motion and results in your numbers.
The individual techniques are the same ones a top firm would use. What's ours is how they're integrated and sequenced, the platform that carries them, the judgment applied to them, and a delivery model that stays until the work is working.
Why the usual options don't fit.
Large firms
Real rigor, but priced and staffed for a much bigger company, and gone when the deck is delivered.
Local advisors
Close and affordable, but rarely doing the quantitative work or bringing the technology.
The Aperture Method
Real analysis, in plain language, a durable tool you keep, and a partner who stays until the plan is working.
| Dimension | The Aperture Method | Large consultancies | Local advisors & CPAs | GIS & data vendors |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quantitative depth | Graduate level | Graduate level | Rarely the quantitative work | Data, not analysis |
| Spatial and market intelligence | Yes, tied to the decision | Seldom offered at your size | No | Maps and lists, no strategy |
| Who does the work | Fenwick How, accountable start to finish | A team you did not meet | Your advisor, part time | A platform or a vendor |
| What it costs | Fixed fee, from $4,500 | Enterprise retainers | Hourly or per filing | Per report or subscription |
| What you keep | Models, dashboards and working files | The deck | Your accounts | A file export |
| After the recommendation | Stays until the strategy is running | The engagement ends | Ongoing, but not strategic | No follow-through |
The Aperture Method is built for the space between: real analysis, in plain language, a durable tool you keep, and a partner who stays until the plan is working.
The framework
Five phases. One continuous picture.
Like the blades of an aperture, each phase opens the view a little more, until the whole business is in focus. Open a blade to see what it is, who it\u2019s for, and what you walk away with.
Understand · Quantify · Reveal · Navigate · Perform
Hover a blade · click to open

Open the aperture.
Each blade is one component of the Method. Hover to see what it is; click to open it and read what it does, who it's for, and exactly what you walk away with.
- 1Every engagement starts with Aperture Insights, a fixed-fee read that names your #1 constraint.
- 2It prescribes which components will actually move the needle: one, a few, or all five.
- 3Aperture Atlas keeps it alive after the engagement ends.
How it works, end to end
One path, from a first read to a living platform.
Start with a fixed-fee Business X-Ray; it names your #1 constraint and prescribes which components you need. Take one result, or the full path.
A fixed-fee Business X-Ray reads your business, names your #1 constraint, and prescribes exactly which components you need.

How do we run and keep improving the business?
You don't need to know these by name. That's our job. They run quietly underneath the plain-language work you actually see.
The Aperture Difference™
Most consulting firms deliver recommendations.
The Aperture Method™ delivers executive intelligence.
By integrating quantitative analytics, financial modeling, geographic intelligence, customer insights, operational diagnostics, and MBA-level strategic frameworks into a single methodology, you gain a living understanding of your business, not simply another report.
The result: better decisions, faster execution, measurable performance improvement, and a durable competitive advantage.
Understand your business. Quantify performance. Reveal opportunity. Navigate what's next. Perform with confidence.
Measured on your numbers.
The targets that matter are set in Aperture Compass and tracked live on the Scoreboard, every initiative marked red, amber, or green against its KPI. We review them with you each quarter and adjust. We ask to be measured on whether the strategy shows up in your results, not on how the deck looked.
Where AI fits, and where judgment does.
We use AI where it genuinely adds signal: finding patterns, segmenting customers, scoring who's likely to leave or buy more, and improving forecasts. It supports decisions; it does not make them. Every output is reviewed by a person before it reaches you. We're honest about the limits of small or imperfect data, and we favor methods you can understand over ones you simply have to trust. If we can't explain why, we won't recommend on it.
Your data stays yours.
Ownership
Everything we build on your data, models, dashboards, is yours to keep.
Security
Least-access handling, secure storage, clear terms.
No reuse
We never sell, share, or reuse your data.
Compliance
We work within the privacy rules that apply to your business.
Questions owners usually ask.
How long does it take?
Aperture Insights and Aperture Analytics typically run a few weeks each; Aperture Intelligence stands up in two to three; Aperture Compass is one to two. Aperture Atlas is ongoing for as long as it's earning its place. The Business X-Ray delivers real insight in its first weeks.
How much of my team's time will it take?
Very little early on: a few interviews and access to data you already have. Aperture Atlas is a genuine partnership, but even then your team stays focused on running the business.
Do we need clean, perfect data?
No. We work with what you have and improve it as we go. Messy data is normal and rarely a blocker.
What exactly is proprietary?
Not the individual techniques. Those are standard. What's ours is the integrated method, the sequencing, the Aperture platform, the judgment we apply, and a delivery model that stays through execution.
What do we keep at the end?
The models, the live dashboard, the roadmap, and the playbooks, plus the capability to keep using them.
Will the AI replace my judgment?
No. It informs decisions; you and we make them. A person reviews every output.
Can we start small?
Yes. Start with the Business X-Ray and continue only if the value is obvious.
